Here's a quick post sharing our trip up the mountain in southern Arizona.
We found this fascinating to go from a desert climate up to a semi dessert grassland and then an oak forest. After it turned into a pine and mixed coniferous forest and finally we arrived to a ski resort at the top of this 2,500 meter mountain. 4 different plant worlds in an hours drive.
Total desert with cacti everywhere leads up to a more arid grassland like road
Along the way you pass the HooDoo rock formations before starting to get into bear country
The mixed coniferous forest was ideal country for both mamma and baby bear.
And at the end you can take the chair lift up to the peak and ski down. |
